Microsoft, Facebook, Moodle, Satellogic and Lidl have one thing in common: in the last few days, these multinational companies have announced they are about to open in Barcelona new headquarters or strategic centres.

Microsoft has started to look for mathematics, physicists and engineers to open a Design Centre and Quantum Lab in addition to those already operative (3 in the US and 3 in Delf (Holland), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Sydney (Australia)).
German supermarkets giant Lidl announced that its e-commerce business will be managed from Barcelona with a 250 people team.
Argentine micro satellites Satellogic is opening a new headquarter in the Catalan capital and the Australian world reference in e-learning Moodle has chosen Barcelona to locate its first headquarter out of Australia.
Finally, Facebook seeks multilingual staff for a new centre in the city monitoring harmful content.

A spokesperson for Amazon, which will open in Barcelona a development centre for software based on machine learning, recently explained to La Vanguardia newspaper that “the extended network of universities and quality of like make Barcelona a very interesting destination for international talent […]. The city combines international talent with a dynamic and innovative network of SMEs, entrepreneurs and start-ups”.
