The Barcelona Synchrotron Park (BSP) is located in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, the capital of the region of Catalonia. BSP offers 640,000 sqm of plots to worldwide innovative companies.

In 2015, Catalonia was home to 6,500 foreign companies, received €4.8 billion in foreign investment and exported some €64 billion.
The Financial Times sees Catalonia as the best Southern European Region of the Future 2016/17 in its latest report on the most attractive European locations for future investments. Barcelona comes first in the continent by Foreign Direct Investment strategy and policies for attracting investors.

ALBA synchrotron is the largest scientific facility in southwest Europe and invigorates the Barcelona Synchrotron Park. 

The park has direct and immediate access from the E-15 motorway, which crosses Europe from southernmost Spain to the northernmost United Kingdom, via Paris and London. 
It is located 35 minutes from the Barcelona International Airport, 25 minutes from the port of Barcelona and 20 minutes from the high-speed rail station that links the city to Europe and the rest of Spain.

Incubators and accelerators:
In the immediate surroundings of the Barcelona Synchrotron Park, we can find the Esade business school and its business centre Esadecreapolis, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB university) with its PRUAB research park, and the Vallès Technology Park, the oldest technology park in Spain. At present, there are some 300 businesses up-and-running in the three complexes.

District Heating & Cooling
A polygeneration plant and its district heating and cooling system feeds all plots in the park. 
Advantages for companies: 
  1. Outsourcing of heating and cooling service so they can concentrate on their business
  2. Reduction of initial investment and less physical space to allocate to bulky equipment
  3. Reduction of some 20% of associated operating and maintenance costs
  4. Flexibility if energy requirements change

Natural Setting

The Barcelona Synchrotron Park, located in the midst of an extensive network of green areas and public spaces, has allocated 140 hectares to natural areas connected to Collserola Natural Park (with more than 8,000 hectares), the main green lung of the Barcelona metropolitan area. These areas include a biological corridor specially designed to protect biodiversity. The bike and walking paths that cross the park promote sustainable mobility. 

This commitment was awarded in 2016 by the European Commission with the "Business & Biodiversity" label.

The Barcelona Synchrotron Park also offers a residential neighbourhood of 4,000 apartments with an extensive offering of services and facilities. It will have specially designed routes for pedestrians, formed of promenades and public spaces inside the islands and different shopping hubs.
